Southwest Domestics places live-in and live-out nannies with Houston-area families. Every candidate is background-checked, bonded, and insured, and you meet 4–5 pre-screened candidates in person at our Stafford office before making a choice.
Live-in vs. live-out
- Live-in: the nanny lives in your home. Duties, hours, and time off are agreed up front; pricing is set at your consultation.
- Live-out: the nanny commutes to your home. Full-time is 35–40 hours per week; live-out assignments over 40 hours per week are billed at an overtime rate in accordance with Texas law.
What to decide before you interview
- Working days and hours, and whether a schedule is provided
- Children’s ages and any special care needs
- Cooking, ironing, errands, driving (and whether you provide a car), and travel
- Whether you also need housekeeping, e.g. a nanny–housekeeper

How placement works
- Consultation: we discuss your household needs, schedule, and family culture.
- Selection: we present 4–5 hand-picked, vetted candidates.
- Interviews: you meet candidates in person at our office, 13847 Stafford Rd, Stafford, TX 77477. Interviews are free; each usually lasts 10–20 minutes, and the whole visit typically takes about an hour to an hour and a half.
- Placement: we handle the details, provide ongoing support, and offer a replacement at no extra cost if the match is not right.
Rates at a glance
Full-time (35–40 hours/week): Class A (senior level, up to 5 years experience) $25–$30/hr; Class B (mid level, up to 3 years) $23+/hr; Class C (entry level, up to 2 years) $20+/hr. Do you charge a finder’s fee?
No. Southwest Domestics does not charge a finder’s fee. A one-time $175 registration fee applies when you open your account.
Do you place live-in nannies in Houston?
Yes. Our client intake asks whether you need a live-in or live-out provider, and we present candidates who fit that arrangement.
How is live-in pricing set?

Are there overtime rules?
